Year 8  enjoyed an author filled afternoon as four best-selling Young Adult authors came to school to talk (and sing!) their way through their latest books.

The event was part of a tour to celebrate the launch of BKMRK, a new online hub for teen and young adult readers. Publishers Hachette have taken their best teen authors on tour to talk to hundreds of readers in UK cities.

Authors Cat Clarke (author of Girlhood, blogger Zoella’s pick for her Book Club), Leo Hunt (author of the scary Dunbarrow Books series, which has been nominated for several awards), Chris Russell (author of trilogy Songs about a Girl and member of band The Lightyears) and Teri Terry (author of the multi-award winning Slated), held their audience enthralled.  Students took part in a Q and A session with the authors and were serenaded by Chris Russell before having the opportunity to have their books and goody bags signed.

“It was a brilliant event, the students had a great time. It’s always fantastic to bring books to life and Year 8 really enjoyed having the chance to meet some of their heroes and discover new authors as well. Reading is so important and we try and organise as many events as we can to help our students develop their enthusiasm and enjoyment.” said Ruth Wyss, Librarian at Prince Henry’s.
