Want to learn more about meditation and mindfulness but don't know where to start? This is a beginner’s class, designed to teach the basics.  Learn how to relax the mind, increase concentration and feel more energized and refreshed. Mindful meditation can provide tools for dealing with stress and anxiety, help to overcome negative states of mind such as anger and jealousy and cultivate positive thoughts and increase self-esteem.  Essentially practical but with the opportunity to discuss other stress management techniques.

An introduction to microscopy and the operations of simple dissecting and light microscopes. Carry out dissections of bees to identify structures and use different methods for preparing and staining tissue. Use different stains to identify particular cells, pathogens and anatomical structures.

Learn a variety of techniques. Create a number of different blocks which will enable you to make a throw, quilt, or quillow (a throw that folds into a cushion) over 30 weeks. Most work can be hand sewn. Sewing machine needed to put blocks together.
