Sixth Form Taster Morning January 2022
The Sixth Form Taster Morning will take place on Saturday 15th January 2022. The taster morning is designed to give students (and parents) a chance to experience A-level lessons in a range of different subjects before making their final option choices. Feedback from current students suggests that it is important to consider a range of subjects before narrowing it down to the final three. Prince Henry’s students have already had the chance to experience three taster lessons and may have already completed applications, but the taster morning gives the opportunity to try a wider range of subjects before interview to confirm the final three. It also gives students from other schools the chance to experience A-level lessons at Prince Henry’s.
The format of the morning sets out to give students and parents the opportunity to attend up to four different taster lessons and I recommend that you attend as many as possible in order to be clear about the decision you are making. Parents are welcome to attend the sessions with students; however, if sessions are oversubscribed, priority will be given to students themselves. Sixth Form staff will be available in the Quad during the morning to deal with any queries regarding the application process or A-level choices.
I do hope you are able to attend this event if you wish to find out more about different Sixth Form options. If for some reason you are unable to do so, the Sixth Form team will be happy to respond to questions by phone or via e-mail using the address at the top of this letter, or the direct address printed in the 2021 Prospectus which is available here.
The session times are listed on the programme below. Students may drop in to as many sessions as they wish. Please be aware that the subject blocks are for the taster morning only and do not reflect the available subject combinations in 2022. The timetable blocks will be constructed based on student applications and, should we need to do so, additional classes will be added and groups moved so that we can meet as many student preferences as possible.
For your information the following risk mitigation measures will be taken:
- Students and parents are requested to wear face coverings when moving around the building. Face coverings may be removed during taster lessons to support communication.
- Please use hand sanitizer on entry to the building and between each lesson
- Do not come into school if, on the day, you are displaying symptoms of Coronavirus, or have tested positive for Coronavirus, or have been instructed to self-isolate.
